Arlen Lane Taylor, 60 - Walton

Arlen Lane Taylor, 60, of Walton, West Virginia, died at 6:02 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2016 in Charleston, after an extended illness. He was born May 7, 1955 at Walton, a son of the late James E. "Tom" and Wilma Ashby Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Phyllis Parsons Taylor; a brother, Cleo Taylor; and a sister, Linda Moore. Arlen was a retired employee of Ray Resources. He was a lifelong resident of Roane County. His hobbies included working on cars, hunting and fishing. Survivors include daughters, Melissa Stevens and Lois Lacy both of St. Albans WV; two granddaughters, Kaitlin and Gigi Taylor; brothers, Arnold Taylor of Indiana, Eugene Taylor of Elkview WV and Gary Taylor of Gandeeville WV; sisters, Bernice Moore of North Carolina, Helen Harper and Wanda Parsons both of Walton. Arlen's request to be cremated and buried beside his loving wife, Phyllis, in the Parsons Family Cemetery, Walton has been honored by his daughters. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, April 16 at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Walton. A memorial service will follow with Jonathan Harper officiating. John H.
