William Samuel "Sam" Miller, 77 - Spencer

William Samuel "Sam" Miller, 77, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the Miletree Center, Spencer, after an extended illness.

He was born April 1, 1939 at Spencer, a son of the late Russell R. and Sadie B. Carpenter Miller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Conrad Miller; two brothers, Levi G. Miller and Ronald J. Miller.

Sam was a retired laborer. He was a lifelong resident of Roane County, a former member of the Spencer Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Spencer Tabernacle.

Survivors include a son, Jackie Lee Taylor of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Connie Casto of Hartville, Ohio, Jean Baum and Virginia Ruth Casto both of Spencer; brothers, Charles Miller of Reedy and Tim Miller of Spencer; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Jack Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Bowers Cemetery, Spencer. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
