Kenneth David Smith, 65, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Roane General Hospital, Spencer, following a sudden illness. He was born February 10, 1951 at Welch, McDowell County, a son of the late John Edward and Judith Frankie Bingham Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Edward Smith. Kenneth was a retired cook. He was a Navy veteran and an active member of the Memorial United Methodist Church, Spencer. Survivors include a brother, the Rev. Jonathan E. Smith of Spencer; nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at the Memorial United Methodist Church, Spencer, with the Rev. Jonathan E. Smith officiating. John H.
