| William Robert Ganley, Sr., 68, of Spencer, Weast Virginia, died Thursday, March 31, 2016, at home, after an extended illness.
He was born July 24, 1937, at Mt. Rainier, Maryland a son of the late Vincent Orville and Rosalie Elizabeth Rodgers Ganley, Sr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Loretta Hansen Ganley.
Mr. Ganley was a retired welder and a resident of Roane County since 1989.
Survivors include his children, William Robert Ganley, Jr. of Greensboro, Md., Kathleen Marie Dumhart of Lusby, Md., Joyce Lynn Fix Wood of Laurel, Md., Henry Hansen Ganley of Boonesboro, Md., James Morgan Ganley, Sr. of Spencer and Elizabeth Anne Metz also of Spencer; brothers, Orville Ganley, Jr. of Seabrook, Md. and Rodger Ganley of Westminster, Md.; sister, Patricia Thompson of Richmond, Va.; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at the Ganley Family Cemetery, Spencer, with the Rev. Jake Hersman officiating.
John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
