PUBLIC WILL VOTE FOR NEW BOARD MEMBERS - Minnora Center Officers Selected In January

(12/16/2002)
The election of new board officers to the Minnora Community Center will be held at 2 p.m. on January 12, 2003, a decision made yesterday at the MCC meeting. "Changes in by-laws were passed," said board member Donna Jordan, including allowing the public to vote in new board members.

"There is a desire to increase the number of board members. We want people to come out and get involved," said Jordan.

MCC board member Larry Cottrell, who has helped lead the effort to change leadership at the center, has announced he is resigning as a board member. Former MCC President Wanda Richards and several former board members resigned in the past months, making way for changes.

Jordan said a survey will be available soon to determine what other activities the public would like. "We appreciate the opinions," she said.

A Christmas program will be held this Friday, December 20th beginning at 7 p.m.

Line dancing will be an event on January 24th. "So put on your dancing feet and come and learn to line dance. All ages are welcome," said Jordan. Square dancing events are also planned.
