ATV DRIVER STRUCK BY CAR NEAR SAND RIDGE

An ATV rider was struck by a vehicle in the Sand Ridge area (US 33-119) about 2:35 p.m. Friday. First reports said the driver fled the scene of the accident, but Chief Deputy Jeff Starcher said the driver went to the top of a hill to gain cell service, and called 911 for help. The ATV driver was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health System by EMS for treatment of injuries. Chief Deputy Starcher is investigating the incident.
