While people are familiar with the 4-H program and specifically 4-H Camp, many do not realize the work that goes into planning such a program. Planning for 4-H camp begins the moment the previous camp ends.

The 4-H Leaders and WVU Extension Office put hundreds of hours of effort into scheduling, purchasing, promoting, reviewing, and fundraising for that single week of camp. Now is the time for you to assist in those efforts.

The 4-H Leaders will be holding their annual 4-H Leaders' Bingo to raise funds for 4-H Camp on Saturday at the Arnoldsburg Community Building at 5:00 p.m.

This year's bingo theme will be "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" with Mix-and-Match prizes including Longaberger, thirty-one, Case Knives and Vera Bradley. Dress in your favorite sports team gear; the "Biggest Fan" will receive an extra card before the games ever begin.

All proceeds from this bingo will go toward camp and other 4-H activities in the community! Doors open at 4:00 p.m., and games begin at 5:00 p.m.

Tickets cost $20.00 for 20 games. Early Bird Tickets are available from the WVU Extension Office at 304-354-6332, or they can be purchased from Sandy Weaver, 4-H Leaders Association Treasurer, at Calhoun Banks. An Early Bird drawling will be held including those individuals who purchase their ticket before 4:00 p.m. on May 6. This bingo is the Leaders' largest fundraiser of the year, and the hopes are the community will come out this year and make it a huge success. By supporting the 4-H Leaders, the community helps make the best even better!

In addition to this bingo, donations are still being accepted to go toward camp! These allow the 4-H program to maintain a reasonable cost for camp! Donations can be written out to the Calhoun County 4-H Leaders Association and mailed to P.O. Box 680 Grantsville, WV 26147.

Finally, 4-H Camp Registration forms are now available in the WVU Extension Office - Calhoun County. To receive a copy, please contact Jamie Mullins, WVU Extension Agent - CEWD, at 304-354-6332, or via email at Jamie.Mullins@mail.wvu.edu
