Louise A. Ward, 65 - Spencer

Louise A. Ward, 65, of Spencer, Clover Community, died Saturday, February 13, 2016, at her home, after a sudden illness.

She was born October 28, 1950, at Spencer, the daughter of the late Joseph Herbert and Mollie E. Looney Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Ward January 23, 2016; a half-brother, Ray A. Looney.

Louise was Vice-President of Financial and Support Services at Roane General Hospital, Spencer, where she first began her career in the Business Office in January 1970. She was also a board member of the Roane General Hospital Foundation where she held the position of Secretary. Louise was a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) since 1982 where she served a President during 1989-90. She was a former member of the Spencer Rotary Club and Past President in 2002-03.

Survivors include her son, Trenton L. Ward of Orlando FL. and a brother-in-law, Glen Ward of Bridgeport WV.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27 at the Clover Cemetery, Clover, with the Rev. Danny Whited officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Roane General Hospital Foundation, 200 Hospital Drive, Spencer, WV 25276 or the Clover VFD, 3909 Clay Road, Spencer, WV 25276.
