Charles E. "Junior" Burton, 82 - Cox's Mills

Charles E. "Junior" Burton, 82, of Cox's Mills, West Virginia, departed this life on the evening of Saturday February 13, 2016 at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, West Virginia, following an extended illness.

Born August 4, 1933 in Lewis County, West Virginia, Junior was the son of the late Charles Earl and Rena Bush Burton.

Junior was a heavy equipment operator for the West Virginia Department of Highways, specializing as a Grader operator. He started working for the DOT in 1961 and retired in 1994 with 33 years experience. In his spare time, Junior enjoyed hunting, playing bluegrass music, and spending time with family and friends.

On December 3, 1957 Junior was united in marriage to Gladys Marie Reeder, who survives at their Route 47 home.

Surviving are 3 children, Charles Edwin Burton of Cox's Mills, Michael Todd Burton and companion Debbie Simmons of Cox's Mills, and Mark Burton and wife Amber of Sutton, West Virginia; 2 stepchildren, Suzetta Burton and husband Ron of Cox's Mills and Milton Willis of West Union WV.

Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 3 brothers, Ron Burton and wife Suzetta of Cox's Mills, Michael Burton of Cox's Mills, and Bud Burton and wife Betty of Weston, WV.

Along with his parents, Junior was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Cindy Burton Wine; and 3 sisters, Ruth Shobe, Ann McCullough and Jean Burton Langford.

Junior's request for cremation has been honored and his ashes will be scattered on the family farm in Cox's Mills. Expressions of sympathy may be sent directly to the family at 8069 US Hwy 47 West, Cox's Mills, WV; 26342.
