ARRESTS MAN IN MURDER - Huntington police said the victim of a shooting has died and one person has been arrested, while another is being sought in connection to the crime.

Lawrence Sykes, 57, of Huntington was pronounced dead at St. Mary's Medical Center following the shooting that happened at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday in an apartment at Marcum Terrace.

Police have obtained a murder warrant for Brandon Lamar McCauley, also known as "Louie", 33, of Detroit, Mich, according to a news release.

On Friday, police arrested Ericka Miller, 26, of Huntington for outstanding warrants. Police said Miller allegedly drove a getaway car from the scene of Thursday's shooting. Police said Miller is expected to be charged with accessory before the fact to murder.

Police said the vehicle was removed from Miller's residence during a SWAT operation Friday morning in the Highlawn area of Huntington.

JOLO ARMED ROBBERY — The McDowell County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a person involved in an armed robbery.

It happened in the Jolo area at the S&M Market.

The suspect had his face hidden and appeared to have a firearm. He took off with cash in a newer model grey vehicle.

The business is now offering a $500 reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest.

HOT SPOT HOLD UP - - Kelly's Hot Spot in Teays Valley possibly at knife-point. The Putnam County Sheriff says a woman walked in and demanded money, possibly carrying a knife on Friday.

Deputies say the woman left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Investigators say she was last seen wearing a flannel shirt with a hoodie, gloves and a white scarf covering her face.
