If you read the names Scrooge, Marley, Cratchit and Fezziwig, what do you think about? Glenville, WV? Well you should.

The Arts Umbrella, a new organization in Gilmer County is producing a performance of the immortal Dickens classic on Friday and Saturday, December 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. It will be presented in Glenville State College's Fine Arts Auditorium. This new adaptation returns to Dickens story and recreates the well known and loved elements, as well as returning some surprises that are missing from many other re-tellings

. Dickens wrote a story about the redemption of one man who chooses to ignore the variety of life around him, burying himself in business. The only way for him to change is to forcibly show him the error of his ways.

Warning: Dickens called his story "A Ghost Story of Christmas", so audiences should expect a bit of a fright.

Admission charges for the play are $5 for general admission and $3 for students and seniors. Proceeds go to the Arts Umbrella for use in developing programs for the arts in the Gilmer County area. There's room for all of the region's artists under the Umbrella.
