Carolyn Sue Pierce, 63 - Glenville

Carolyn Sue Pierce age 63 of U.S. Highway 33 West of Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life at 3:34 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, West Virginia, following a short illness.

Born July 16, 1952 in Canton, Ohio, Carolyn is the daughter of the late Harley and Connie Harris Williamson.

Carolyn was a homemaker who loved to care for her family. She was a graduate of Pennsboro High School in Ritchie County, class of 1970. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, working with crafts, reading, sewing, cake decorating, playing games with her grandchildren, and she was a Methodist by faith.

On July 13, 1974 she was united in marriage to James K. Pierce, who survives at their U.S. Hwy 33 home.

Surviving are 2 children, Shawna Leigh Maxwell and husband Jeff of Beaufort, South Carolina, and Brian Keith Pierce of Glenville, West Virginia; 5 grandchildren, Alexis Maxwell of Beaufort SC; Tristan Pierce of Texas, Kyle and Kyra Pierce of Canton OH, and Trevor Pierce of Glenville; and 2 sisters, Mary E. Bailey and husband Denzil of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and Elizabeth Dornan also of Parkersburg.

Along with her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Tyler Maxwell; and 2 brothers, Donald and Daniel Williamson.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 with Rev. Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery along US Hwy 33 West of Glenville. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Mortuary.
