Calhoun's late rally fell short Thursday night when a three-point attempt was tipped in for a two-point basket right before the buzzer as Midland Trail came away with a thrilling 61-60 win over the Red Devils in the first round of the West Virginia Hometown Invitational Tournament (WVHIT) Thursday night at Mount Zion.

The Red Devils fought back to within three points and tried a three-point shot right before the buzzer. In the ensuing battle for the rebound the ball was tipped in giving Calhoun two, but not the three it needed allowing the Patriots the victory.
