Holly D. Starcher, 79 - Mt. Zion

Holly D. Starcher, 79, of Mt. Zion, West Virginia, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.

He was born May 17, 1936 at Hur, a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Rose Jane Adams Starcher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lena E. Starcher in 2007; three sisters, Hazel Hughes, Lucy Bollinger and Goldie Greathouse; one brother, Thomas Henry Starcher.

Holly was a member of the Hur Community Church and a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his children, Marvin Starcher and Brenda Starcher both of Mt. Zion, Cleveland Starcher and wife Cindy of Parkersburg WV, Ronnie Starcher of Mt. Zion, Janet Gherke and husband Craig, and Dewayne Starcher all of Grantsville WV; one sister, Lula Hughes of Creston WV; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 25 at the Hur Community Church, Hur, with the Rev. Jim McIntyre and the Rev. Delmas Stutler officiating. Burial will be in the Starcher Family Cemetery, Mt. Zion.

The family will receive friends at the church from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, January 24.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
