NWS ALERT:SNOW SHOWERS/ICY ROADS SUNDAY NIGHT - Monday Night Temp 4 Degrees

Snow showers and icy roads Sunday night with off and on snow showers through the evening as an Arctic front is moving through the area bringing rapidly falling temperatures and increased winds, according to NWS.

Residual moisture and any snow accumulations will likely freeze on untreated surfaces creating hazardous travel conditions Sunday night and Monday morning.

Just after 6 p.m. Sunday a number of vehicles in the ditch and stuck on the highways in Calhoun, as salt trucks were being dispatched.

The Grantsville VFD went to Rt. 16 north for traffic control and the Arnoldsburg VFD responded to Liberty Hill (US 33-119).

Traffic problems were cleared by 7:30 p.m.

Sunday nights temperature is expected to drop to 10 degrees or below. Monday night 4 degrees.
