Zilch. Zip. Nada. Nothing. Zero.

That's exactly what Calhoun's offense did in the fourth quarter - no points - as Gilmer come from behind to post a 37-28 victory over the Red Devils Friday night before a packed house at Mount Zion.

Calhoun, 5-4, led by one - 28-27 - going in to the fourth quarter but the Titans, 4-5, owned that period.

Gilmer took the lead 29-28 when Trey Shuff blocked a Calhoun shot and raced down court for a basket. The next time down it was once again deja vu all over again as Shuff rejected another Calhoun shot and scored on the other end. From there the Titans scored six more to set the final score.

Any way you stacked it the game was a weird game as Gilmer never scored a free throw going 0-4 while Calhoun had only one two-point basket coming on 14 attempts. And only one player - Calhoun's Dylan Heiney - scored in double figures. He had 11.

The game was close all the way with Gilmer leading all of the first half before Calhoun caught up and took the lead in the third period behind the three point shooting of Heiney and Austin Gribble.

The Red Devils were hampered by the early foul trouble of Zack Yanero who had two quick fouls and added a third before halftime. But Gilmer also lost Colby Cunningham to foul troubles as he come up with a pair in the first period.

Ethyn Miller backed Heiney in the scoring parade with seven to go with his four assists while Gribble added six and Yanero four. Dakota Jarvis, Caden Hicks, Sonny Wilson, Trevor Carder, Ben Frederick and Nick Murphy all played but did not score.

For Gilmer Shuff and Noah Aviles led the way with nine each. Lukas Sirbaugh added eight, Carter Springer seven and Kaleb Conrad and Ethan Burkhammer two each. Gunnar Haley, Cole Haley, Cunningham and Ethan Burkhammer all played but did not score.

The Titans also won the junior varsity game by a 48-38 count behind Hunter Self's 14 points. He was backed by Dalton Rose and Bradley McHenry with seven each, Chase Steele and Justyn Dean with six each and Austin Pritt and Isaac Poole with four each. Michael McCune played but did not score.

Carder scored 14 points while adding four assists, three steals and a blocked shot to lead the Red Devils. Sonny Wilson was next with 10 while Caden Hicks added six, Hayden Richards four and Frederick and David Marks two apiece. John Long, Levi Gregory, Noah Allen and Murphy all played but did not score.

The Red Devils take to the road Friday night for a game at Braxton while Gilmer returns to action Wednesday when it plays host to Clay.
