FIRST BARELY MEASURABLE SNOW FELL IN REGION - Temp Dropping 10 Degrees Tuesday Night, Three Hour Calhoun School Delay Wednesday

(01/13/2016)
The National Weather Service in Charleston issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow for the region Tuesday.

It was the first barely measurable snow for the region, slightly more that one inch, but enough to slick the roads and cause Calhoun Schools to close at 12:30 p.m., just in advance of the snowfall.

Roads were hazardous.

Tuesday night the temperature was forecast to drop to about 10 degrees.

Calhoun Schools are on a three hour delay Wednesday.

Temps are predicted to fall into single digits in a few days.

The National Weather Service says up to 5 inches of snow is expected in mountainous areas.
