SMITH CHARGED OVER POSSESSION OF EXPLOSIVE MATERIAL

(01/08/2016)
State Police arrested a Parkersburg resident Christopher Todd Smith, 44, for illegal possession of explosive materials, the case being waived to the Wood County Circuit Court.

A felony criminal complaint says a search warrant was executed on Smith, a former resident of Grantsville, related to multiple wildlife violations.

Authorities, according to the complaint, discovered an electronic blasting cap in a bedroom.

The arrest was made on WV Code that says it is illegal for any person to possess or manufacture explosive material without a permit.
