Darlene Kay Owens Roberts, 61 - Parkersburg

Darlene Kay Owens Roberts, 61 of Parkersburg WV, passed away January 2, 2016 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born December 21, 1954 in Grantsville, WV a daughter of the late Joshua Sewell and Minnie F. (Bower) Owens.

Darlene spent the last 35 years working for the Wood County Magistrate Court and the Bureau of Public Debt. She was a 1973 graduate of Calhoun County High. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the "old time" Stamps-Baxter hymns on the piano. She was a devoted wife, mother and Christian and will be missed by all, especially family and friends.

Surviving is her husband of 38 years, Larry M. Roberts; a son Kenneth Michael Roberts of Ormond Beach FL; four brothers, Joshua Owens Jr. of Ravenswood WV, George Owens of Sunbury OH, Ronald Owens (Ellen) of Parkersburg and Charles Owens (Donna) of Parkersburg; three sisters, Greta Richards (Dewain) of Grantsville WV, Joyce Roberts (Forest) of Grantsville and Carolyn Preston (Gary) of Belpre OH.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ottmer and Woodrow Owens; three sisters, Vonda Wiedenhoft, Norma Jean Godfrey and her twin Sharlene Sadler and special niece Vicki Owens.

Funeral services will be Wednesday 11 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Todd Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8PM.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that you make a donation or contribution to the American Red Cross so they may be able to continue to provide the gift of life to those in need.
