Never, in our lifetime, have we witnessed temperatures this warm in December.

December 2015 will go down in history as the warmest ever.

All National Weather Service climate sites that have been collecting data, some since the year 1889, have been breaking records almost weekly. Now that the month is complete, the monthly records have also been broken. Charleston, West Virginia recorded the highest average temperature for the state at 49.4 degrees.

Huntington, WV checked in with 48 degrees, Morgantown was also balmy with 48, Beckley next at 47.7, Parkersburg was 47.3, Elkins rounded out the sites with 45.9 degrees.

All of these will come in as record temperatures for their respective sites.

The average highs were beat by 10 to 13 degrees.
