Ruth Lancaster, 86 - Grantsville

Ruth Lancaster, 86, of Grantsville WV, went to be with her Savior December 27, 2015 at Eldercare of Ripley WV.

She was born October 12, 1929, the daughter of the late George C. and Anna V. Crawford Gillespie of Clarksburg WV.

On June 30, 1946 she married Richard Lancaster who preceded her in death September 11, 2003.

They attended Landmark Baptist Church while enjoying their winters in Haines City FL. She was a member and volunteer for the hospital auxiliary. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church, having served in many areas. She had previously owned and operated Ruth's Drive-In for many years. She enjoyed her hobbies of gardening, bell collecting, knitting, and cross-stitching.

She is survived by her six children, four sons, Joseph (Sandra) Lancaster; David (Linda) Lancaster; James (Donna) Lancaster; Timothy (Sandra) Lancaster; and two daughters, Martha (Bill) Bennett and Mary (Raymond) Jenks; nine grandchildren, David II, Chad, Greg, Kyle, and Kevin Lancaster, Chris Jenks, Amanda Wayne, Missy Ives and Allison Bennett. Also surviving are 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a precious granddaughter, Rayanna Lancaster.

Funeral services will be held at Victory Baptist Church, Grantsville, on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steven Carter officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday.

Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, is assisting the Lancaster family with final arrangements for Ruth.
