Donald Lee McVay, 68 - Elizabeth

Donald Lee McVay, 68, of Elizabeth, W.Va., passed away Dec. 22, 2015, at his residence, after an extended illness.

Don is the son of the late Paul and Marlyn (Kohler) McVay. He proudly served in the United States Marines. He graduated from WVU-P with a degree in Journalism at 52 years of age.

He retired from Woodcraft after 10 years of service, as a web master. He enjoyed wood working, going to car shows, computers and most of all making others laugh.

His true enjoyment in life is his children and grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife, Penny (Batchik) McVay; son, Donald McVay (Amber) of Williamstown, W.Va.; daughter, Kitty Mills of Bruster, Ohio; stepson, Richard Hanus (Tracy) of Clinton, Ohio; stepdaughter, Dawn Nichols of Belpre, Ohio; grandchildren, James Mills, Jessie Mills, Jennifer Mills, Jacob McVay, Richard Hanus, Noah Nicholas, Holly Nicholas, Airie McVay and Kristin Smith; great grandchildren, Keira Mills, Liam Mills, Sophia McVay, Emma McVay Murphy, Alexander Malone and Madox Malone; one sister, Paula "Jean" Vonwyl (Robert) of Massillon, Ohio; one brother, David McVay (Mellissa) of Navarre, Ohio; and special friend, Mike Frazier of Belpre, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by both his parents; and one brother, C. Robert McVay.

In keeping with Don's wishes, the family will be holding a Celebration of Life Party from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2015, at the Elizabeth Baptist Church Activity Room.
