Zack Yanero scored nine of this game-high 22 in the fourth quarter to lead Calhoun to a 66-60 victory over Doddridge in the second game of the Doddridge Tournament Monday night.

With the win the Red Devils, 3-1, advance to the championship game against Pocahontas tonight at 7:30. Doddridge will play Clarksburg Liberty in the consolation game set to start at 6 p.m.

While Yanero's scoring led the way the Bulldogs did not give up without a battle and it took Ben Frederic's driving lay up with an assist from Ethyn Miller with 34.1 remaining to finally put the Bulldogs away. Frederick's bucket gave Calhoun a five point lead making it a two possession game which effectively took the wind out of the Bulldogs' sails.

The game was close all the way with Doddridge holding the upper hand most of the first half. But in the second half the Red Devils turned up the intensity and took over control of the contest, especially in the fourth quarter where they enjoyed a 19-5 edge.

Calhoun placed three players in double figures led by Yanero, who also had 12 rebounds. Miller added 16 points and had six assists. Dylan Heiney had 13 points and nine rebounds. Frederick came off the bench to score nine while Dakota Jarvis added six. Austin Gribble and Caden Hicks both played but did not score.

Calhoun is now 3-1.

For Doddridge, 1-3, Hunter Riffle led the way with 12, all on three=point shots, Garrett Deveraux added 11 while Ben Rock and Drew Lett had 10 apiece. Lett also led Doddridge with six rebounds and three assists.

Brandon Clevenger had eight, Colton Oliver four, Logan Bee three and Hunter Hayes two to round out the scoring.
