A winter snowstorm came with slick roads and icy bridges. Apparently Broadway Joe didn't get the approval to Earl Ray to treat the roads and the bridges on both I-77 & I-79 were treacherous. The DOH had a driver out on I-77 trying to plow 1/2" of snow from the road. All that was happening was sparks and compressing the snow into ice. Before the cold snap the amphibians were singing, bats were out and about and one could pick flowers.

The Republican eunuchs in the congress rolled over and gave the Big Eared One everything he asked for as they are afraid to take a stand because the government controlled media would say bad things about them. Folks then wonder why the electorate is furious and back "outsiders" like The Donald, Dr. Carson and Ted Cruz. One would hope that many of the "go along to get along" crowd are removed in the primary and replaced with real men and real women who have a spine and stand for something. If the W. Va. legislature sells out to the out of state big boys they too can expect wrath from the citizens as well.

Charles Russell was calling on Paris Parsons, Ray Gumm and brother Euell at the Miletree Center. It was understood that Santa came to see Euell and brought him several presents including some "smelly stuff" to impress his lady friend.

Grif's Trucking was making stone deliveries in the local area and up the Richardsonville Road.

R. W. "Spark" Arthur's ashes were buried Sunday in a family ceremony.

Freddie Bush was moving hay in the Creston area.

Jodie Goff was calling on Charles Russell a short while back.

Magnum Hunter, as expected, has filed for bankruptcy protection. Magnum Hunter acquired the assets of Triad and still operate a secondary recovery project in Roane County. Not so long back the firm drilled a spectacular Utica shale well near Middlebourne.. In actual inflated dollars it would be that natural gas fetched a better price during the Great Depression than now.

Mark West, the firm that runs the fractionation plants that separate the ethane, propane, butanes, pentanes, etc. from the natural gas stream has been merged into MPLX.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude oil dropped to $33.73/bbl. with condensate fetching only $14.73, Marcellus & Utica light $27.73 and medium $33.73/bbl.
