Daniel William "Dan" DeMarino, 79 - Spencer

Daniel William "Dan" DeMarino of Spencer, W.Va., passed away on December 18, 2015 at home after an extended illness.

He was born in Clarksburg, W.Va., on November 30, 1936, son of the late Dean and Teresa DeMarino.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Jane DeMarino; son and daughter-in-law, John Daniel and Karen DeMarino of Richmond, Va.; and two grandchildren, John, Jr. and Adreanna; several nieces and nephews Additional survivors include a brother, Frank DeMarino and his wife, JoAnn of Clarksburg, W.Va. and a sister-in-law, Bettie DeMarino of Berea, Ohio.

Dan was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph DeMarino and his sister, Mary DeMarino.

Prior to his retirement, he was Executive Vice President of First Neighborhood Bank in Spencer. He was also a graduate of the West Virginia State Police Academy.

He graduated from Washington Irving High School in 1955, where he was an all-star basketball player. Dan was an avid golfer and was a member of the Roane County Country Club. He was also a hunter and fisherman.

A funeral service will be held at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, on Monday, December 21 at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. Larry Greathouse officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer, W.Va. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request you make a contribution to the Roane County Animal Shelter.
