SMITH SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR UNLAWFUL ASSAULT BY CALHOUN COURT

Brian Smith (left) was sentenced to one to five years in the state penitentiary by Judge Thomas Evans III, following his guilty plea to unlawful assault, according to Prosecutor Shannon Johnson.

Smith was given credit for time served and was ordered to pay the court costs associated with the case.

Gary Johnson appeared for a scheduling conference related to his charges of manufacturing a controlled substance. His case was set for trial on March 8th.

Ryan Abramovich and Adam Parsons's pre-trial hearing was continued to January 6, 2015 related to their charges of malicious assault.

Individuals appearing in cases before Judge David Nibert in Calhoun Circuit Court:

- Corey Metheney's sentencing hearing following his conviction of sexual abuse in the first degree was continued to January 25th so the Court could review and consider a sex offender evaluation conducted on the Defendant.

- James Blankenship entered a no contest plea to attempt to commit a felony. He will be sentenced January 25th.

- Ashley Easton was not transported to a hearing on a motion to violate her probation filed by the State. The Judge granted her a bond and ordered that she be placed on home confinement. Her case will be heard on January 25th.
