A 30-year-old male driver lost control of his vehicle on the Enon Straight on Rt. 7 near Russett shortly afternoon Wednesday, striking a utility pole and downing a phone cable.

The vehicle plunged over an embankment into a deep ravine near the Little Kanawha River, the driver escaped with a laceration to the head.

The Grantsville VFD and Minnie Hamilton EMS responded to the scene.

State Police investigated the incident.
