Nancy J. Bales, 78 - Spencer

Nancy J. Bales, 78, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015 at home.

She was born September 1, 1937 in Spencer, a daughter of the late V. Edward and Bertha McCauley Starcher. She formerly worked at Dollar General and Family Dollar, was an in-home caregiver and a member of the Spencer Church of the Nazarene.

Nancy is survived by her husband William W. "Bill" Bales; her children, Lisa Bales Jordan (Joe Adrian) of Danville, Ohio, Anita Bales Clark (Scott) of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Patricia Bales Rogers (John) of Loudenville, Ohio, David Wayne Bales of Strongsville, Ohio, and Robert Lee Bales of St. Albans, West Virginia; eight grandchildren, Wilford O'Colopy Durbin (Ann), Kaitlin Quinn Durbin, Benjamin Ambrose Durbin, Chelsea Elizabeth Jones (Jason), Victoria Elise Clark, Michael Don Jones, Brittney Lynn Bales, and David Matthew Bales; and three sisters, Carolyn Hersman, Peggy Forron, and Judy Roberts, all of Spencer.

Service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Spencer Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Tim Bess and Rev. Jesse Briles officiating. Burial will follow in the Hebron Cemetery near Spencer. Visiting hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00pm Thursday at the church.

Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of the arrangements.
