Doris Marie "Muggs" Malona Roberts, 81 - Glenville

Doris Marie "Muggs" Malona Roberts, 81, of Glenville, WV, departed this life peacefully at home Saturday morning, November 14, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren, and ending a life of devotion to her husband and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Paul Roberts, on June 18, 2015.

Born August 24, 1934 in Calhoun County, Muggs was the daughter of the late Charles Owen and Catherine Ruth Westfall Malona.

On September 16, 1954 she was united in marriage to John Paul Roberts. Opportunities took them to Ohio then back to West Virginia where they settled in Jackson County for 17 years.

She devoted her life to working with her husband, farming and helping to start the family building business before moving back to Glenville in 1975.

Muggs was a Christian, a homemaker, and a local business women, who loved caring for her family, and visiting with friends. Her passions were music, gardening, history, and politics.

Surviving are 2 sons, Owen Paul "Buzz" Roberts (Anita) and Jon Patrick Roberts, a daughter, Jayne Evans, all of Glenville, West Virginia, and daughter Gina Schweinsberg (R.L.) of St. Mary's, West Virginia; her grandchildren, Sarah Jayne Hacker (Josh), of St. Mary's, West Virginia, William Patrick Morrison, of Newport, Ohio, John T.P. Evans, Jacob S. M. Evans, Matthew Owen Roberts, Hannah Lynn Roberts, Patrick Bryce Roberts and Jon Payton Roberts, all of Glenville, West Virginia; great grandchildren Laura Quinn Hacker and Caroline Morgan Hacker of St. Mary's, West Virginia; a special family member Jeramey Grogg (Corrie) of Canton, Ohio.

Muggs is also survived by her sister, Margaret Joyce "Joy" Bush of Boaz, WV, her brothers, Charles Owen Malona Jr. and Jerry Malona (Phyllis) both of Grantsville, WV. and a brother in law, Reginald "Reggie" Roberts (Rose) of Glenville, WV.

Along with her parents and husband, Muggs was preceded in death by 1 sister, Ernestine Carson, and 1 brother in law, Bobby Gene Roberts.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the John Paul Roberts Memorial Scholarship Fund, Calhoun Banks, 904 North Lewis Street, Glenville, WV; 26351.

Muggs request for cremation has been honored and a celebration of life will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 12:00 noon, Saturday November 21, 2015 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon Saturday at the Mortuary. A meal provided by the Glenville Cornerstone Cafe will be served at the Church of God of Prophecy in Sand Fork following services at the Mortuary.
