HUNTINGTON HOLD-UP - After a brief chase, police arrested a man charged with robbing a Speedway gas station in Huntington about 2 a.m. Saturday.

According to court documents, Sammy Cooper, Jr., from Huntington, went into the Speedway on Madison Avenue, pulled a knife and demanded cash from the clerk.

Investigators said the clerk ran to the gas station's office and hid while Cooper, Jr., jumped the counter and grabbed the cash drawer.

According to the criminal complaint, after grabbing the cash drawer, Cooper, Jr., ran from the store.

FATHER SHOOTS SON - - Police are investigating a shooting that initially started as an argument between a 37-year-old and his son.

According to a news release from the Raleigh County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a shooting in the Crab Orchard area of Raleigh County.

The release said the father and son were arguing when the father shot his son. He was transported to Raleigh General Hospital and is in stable condition.

Deputies are continuing to investigate the shooting, but no arrests have been made. No names have been released in the case.
