| Gene Berdell Persinger, 57, of Linn, West Virginia, departed this life Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Mt Carmel-St. Ann's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio following an extended illness. Born January 23, 1957 in Bedford, Ohio, Gene was the son of the late James and Mary McHenry Persinger. Gene was a graduate of the West Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind in Romney, West Virginia, class of 1976. In his spare time, Gene enjoyed watching TV shows such as Lassie and Walker Texas Ranger, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling his grandchildren. Gene was also a Methodist by faith. On June 15, 1980 he was united in marriage to Debra Powers Persinger, who survives at their Linn, WV, home. Surviving are 3 children, Jamie Persinger of Linn, WV, Andy Persinger, and Kerry Powers of Weston, WV, and 5 grandchildren, Jada Persinger, Jobe Loudin, Kole Persinger, Jerec Loudin, and Duke Persinger. Also surviving are 6 siblings, Linda Ice and husband Larry of Salem, WV, Jack Persinger and wife Susan of Linn, WV, Jimmy Persinger and wife Pam of Apple Creek, Ohio, Judith Albanese of Dallas, Texas, Cora Persinger and husband Robert Wiggins of Linn, WV, and Scotty Riffle and wife Nicole of Linn, WV, and step-father, Harold Riffle of Linn, WV. Along with his parents, Gene was preceded in death by 1 sister, Helen Riffle. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV, 26351 at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 14, 2015 with Rev. Phil Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the McHenry I Cemetery in Linn, WV. Friends may call from 6-8 PM, Friday evening, November 13, 2015 at the mortuary. |
