CALHOUN-GILMER CAREER CENTER HONORS VETS

Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center honored veterans Monday, the school hosted two assemblies, one for the morning classes and one for the afternoon classes, CGCC director Bryan Sterns welcomed the guests.

The program included a reading titled "Armistice Day," read by Tyler Meadows.

Makahla Morris and Mitchell McKown, Law and Public Safety students lead the pledge and Mrs. Leigh McIntyre-Smith Introduced the veterans.

The veterans attending were Herman Nutter, Von Yoak (serving in World War II), Ken Townsend, Lloyd Hall, Susan Greathouse, and Mike Jackson, and Jeffrey McIntyre. Those speaking were Von Yoak, Susan Greathouse, and Ken Townsend.

The students made bulletin boards and the Natural Resources Management classes had filmed a video of other students and staff saying something to the veterans.

The students were allowed to talk to the veterans and show their respect and thank them for their service. The Prostart class served a great lunch to the guests and Carl Collins closed by thanking the veterans for their service.
