Arlan Ray (Dick) McCune, age 66, of Orrville was taken into the arms of Jesus, his Savior, on October 28, 2015 into eternal peace.
Dick was born on June 29, 1949 in Orma, West Virginia to the late Ralph and Ocie McCune. He was the first of six children born to them. Surviving are Sharon (Tom) Lane, Lancaster, Ohio; Kenneth (Janet) McCune, Orma, West Virginia; Rita (Mark) Lower, Smithville; and Virginia (Robert) Johns, Orrville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Stephen McCune.
Dick graduated from Rutland High School, Class of 1967. He moved to Orrville after graduation and became employed at the J.M. Smucker Co. as a production supervisor retiring in 2014. In 1968 he married Marcella, who survives. He is survived by two amazing children, Julie (John) Ellis of Columbia Station, and Jason (Kathy) McCune of Ashland. He also has three wonderful grandchildren who adored their grandpa, Tatyana Ellis, and Aurora and Nathan McCune.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews who loved their uncle Dick, and their families: Erin, Jared and son, Isaiah Archer, Jared Warner, Justin, Amanda, and sons, Noah and Milo Warner, Sarah Johns, Evan, Emily and son Lucas Lower, Kellie, Karrie and Kenny McCune. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him.
Services will be held at Orma United Methodist Church in Orma, West Virginia on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 1 p.m., with Burl McCune officiating. Burial will follow in the Orma United Methodist Church Cemetery.
