Harry Lee Burdette, 78 - Reedy

Harry Lee Burdette, 78, of Reedy, West Virginia, passed away on October 29, 2015 at home after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Harry was born August 19, 1937 in Reedy to the late H.C. "Bus" and Glenna Freshwater Burdette. He was an avid farmer and loved spending time with his grandchildren as well as hunting. He worked for Monarch Rubber and in road construction.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Burdell Lowers Burdette; two sons, Jeff (Trudy) of Pennsboro, West Virginia and Randy of Kenna, West Virginia; five grandsons, Joshua (Randee) of St. Mary's, West Virginia, Zachary (Estelle) of Ohio, Marshall (Tara) of Spencer, West Virginia, Brandon (Natasha) of Nitro, West Virginia, and Nathan (Shyi) of Reedy; two granddaughters, Josslyn and Kaydence, of Kenna; six great-granddaughters, MacKenzie and Kayla, of Spencer, Gracie of St. Mary's, Bella and Makal of Ohio, and Rhylee of Reedy; three great-grandsons, Jake of Illinois, Cyrus of Ohio, and Bentlee of Reedy; a sister, Linda (Bob) Nichols of Reedy; and a brother-in-law, Howard "Sonny" Lowers of Chloe, West Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Bumgarner.

Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Rev. John J. Vannoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery near Reedy. Visiting hours are Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
