A Grantsville couple have been arrested on multiple charges, including charges alleging acquiring precursors related to the manufacturing of meth.

John Franklin Cash, 42, and Candace Marie Cash, 33, were charged by the West Virginia State Police and are incarcerated in Central Regional Jail.

The Cash's were arrested Saturday, October 24, after their vehicle was stopped Friday night in the Village of Hur and was impounded and placed on hold.

A criminal complaint indicates that the towing company U and S Towing called officers advising them the car had been broken into and items taken.

Police said in the complaint that towing company employees reported that Cash, his wife and the driver of a vehicle, identified as Alfred Starcher, came to a building owned by the company, and reportedly broke through evidence tape around the car and removed items from the vehicle.

According to the complaint, employees said Cash advised his wife to "get ledgers," with a black duffel bag and grocery bags being removed from the car and taken from the premise.

Police later encounter Cash and his wife in Grantsville, who denied going to the towing company and denied knowing Alfred Starcher.

John Cash is also charged with obstructing an officer, trespassing, interference with officers, conspiracy, carrying a deadly weapon without license.

Candace Cash is also facing some of the same charges.

Authorities this week have incarcerated Issac Paul Bell, 25, for probation violation.
