GRANTSVILLE'S FIRST HALLOWEEN RESIDENTIAL DECORATING COMPETITION - Golden Leaf And Black Cauldron Awards Offered

(10/28/2015)

The Town of Grantsville would like to announce the First Annual Golden Leaf and Black Cauldron Residential Halloween Decorating Competition.

There will be one winning family in each division.

The Golden Leaf Award was created for those families who love all things autumn, warm, crafty scarecrows, hay bales, mums and wreaths.

The Black Cauldron Award is for families who love a Spooktacular Halloween.

Does your family live in a haunted house filled with cackling witches, maybe a Zombie Asylum or a Creepy Candy Factory?

We encourage all families to get together and choose a theme that best describes your house full of ghouls. Families are welcome to look for inspiration through books, magazines, DVDs and online. Unlimited resources can be found at the Calhoun County Library.

A panel of five judges will begin to prowl the streets at dusk on Wednesday October 28th and will commence at 4:00 p.m. on Friday October 30th. Judging and awards distribution will not interfere with Halloween activities and awards will be given out prior to Trick or Treat.

The winners will be pictured and announced on the Hur Herald and in the following issue of The Calhoun Chronicle the first week in November.

Don' t forget to layer your effects with music and lights. Let' s make this really difficult for our panel of judges.

Good luck and have lots of fun!
