GUY D. MILLER - Massillon, Ohio

Guy D. Miller, 86, of Massillon, Ohio, died Friday, November 29, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center, Canton, Ohio.

He was born July 3, 1916, at Minnora, Calhoun County, a son of the late John Tilden and Cora Belle Adams Miller. He retired in 1985 as an oil and gas field driller in West Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Ohio. He was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple, where he served as an usher for 17 years. He was a 1935 graduate of Calhoun County High School and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Pacific Theatre during W.W.II.

Survivors one son, Robert L. Siers of Chattanooga, TN; three grandchildren, Kimberly Pauley of Lancaster, CA, Terry Tipps of Chattanooga and the Rev. John Mark Siers of Ripley, WV and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Violet S. Miller, December 12, 1996; three brothers, Harry C., Gordon J. and Lemuel S. Miller; two sisters, Mary Duffield and Virginia Miller.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, December 3 at 11 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Reverend Mark Siers officiating. Burial will be in Prudence Chapel Cemetery, Minnora.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
