PHOTO UPDATE: PLEASANT HILL DWELLING BURNS SUNDAY MORNING - Former Prince Of Peace Catholic Church

A Pleasant Hill residence was destroyed early Sunday morning, with the occupants escaping from the structure. Fire was coming through the roof when the Grantsville VFD arrived after the 3:38 a.m. call near the intersection of State Rt. 16 and Vaughan Road. The structure, the former Prince of Peace Catholic Church, was owned by Jerry Smith. Temperatures, the coldest of the fall, had dropped to 30 degrees. Also responding was the Smithville VFD and Minnie Hamilton EMS.
