KANAWHA SHOOTING - Multiple law enforcement agencies are on the scene of a shooting Monday night in the Kanawha community of Glasgow.

It happened about 8:45 p.m.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department reports that the person's injuries are not life threatening, after being shot in the shoulder.

Deputies say a man has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.

Deputies also say the person who was shot may have been trying to damage the shooting suspect's vehicle.

The names of those involved have not been released.

MOTEL SHOOTING - Charleston Police are reporting a shooting at the Red Roof Inn in Kanawha City early Monday morning.

Police responded to the shooting about 12:45 a.m. They say that James Braxton, 47, of Oak, Hill WV had been shot in the leg and arm. He also had cuts on his head and face.

Investigators say they interviewed witnesses from Michigan and the Beckley area who were present.

They also say that drug evidence was clearly seen by officers when they arrived to help Braxton.

Police say the suspects in the shooing are familiar to Braxton and are from the Beckley area. Officers are currently working to get their full legal names.

Investigators say this incident does not appear to be related to a shooting at the Knights Inn last week where a Florida man was shot last month, with drug activity appearing to have been a factor.
