An Ohio hunter died after receiving critical injuries Friday when his ATV wrecked in the woods off Pleasant Hill, near a cabin where he and friends had been hunting.

Donald Bishop, reportedly about 50, of Medina, Ohio died enroute to a Charleston medical center, with a trauma team coming to Minnie Hamilton Health System to transport him. A chopper was not available because of bad weather.

In a second incident, a 16-year-old Trevor Lynch received serious injuries Saturday just west of Arnoldsburg near Liberty Hill, when he fell about 15 feet from a tree stand, reports said he suffered a critical head-neck injury. The youth is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lynch of Arnoldsburg.

Responders went to a wooded hillside area off US 33/119 at 6:30 p.m. with the Arnoldsburg VFD utilizing their UTV to reach the victim.

Minnie Hamilton EMS and the Arnoldsburg and Upper West Fork VFDs responded to the incident, with NRP officer Charles Stevens.

The youth was taken by ambulance since weather conditions disallowed a chopper.
