Haymond D. Smith, 77, of Parkersburg

Haymond D. Smith, 77, of Parkersburg passed away Sept. 25, 2015, at Camden Clark Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Normantown, W.Va., to Ralph W. and Floda M. McCartney Smith.

He is survived by his sons, Perry Smith of LaGrange, Ohio, Harold Smith of Grafton, Ohio, Harland Smith of Elyria, Ohio, David Hoyt of Grafton, Ohio, Tony Hoyt of Wellington, Ohio, Rodney Hoyt of Elyria, Ohio, and Daniel Hoyt of Parkersburg; daughter, Teresa Archer of Elizabeth; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brothers, Hayward Smith of Elyria, Ohio, Rabon Smith of Grafton, Ohio, and Rodney Smith of Normantown.

Haymond was a member of 14th Avenue Gospel Mission and NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Haymond served in the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patsy; and sisters, Nelda Whited, Melva Krause and Wynnona Stephenson.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Tim Burch officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be following the service at Sunset Memory Gardens.
