James Jerald "JJ" Greathouse, 41 - formerly of Spencer

James Jerald "JJ" Greathouse, 41, of Cottontown, Tennessee formerly of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015. He was born July 13, 1974, a son of Sherry Kelley Bonnett (Dave Phillips) of Peniel, West Virginia and the late Jerald (Marilyn) Greathouse of St. Albans, West Virginia. He was an IT specialist and a talented musician. In addition to his mother, he leaves behind his wife, Jessica Greathouse and two daughters, Alyssa and Emma, all of Tennessee; two brothers, Devon Phillips of Peniel and Jeremy Phillips of Walton, West Virginia; a sister, Jesi Greathouse of St. Albans; grandparents, John and Ina Kelley of Peniel and Ron and Martha Postalwait of Spencer; and many other family members and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald (Sharon) Greathouse and an uncle, Bryan Kelley. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 2:00pm at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Rev. Larry Jones officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. The burial will take place at a later date at the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Peniel. A celebration of James life will be held at the Kelley farm on Peniel Road immediately after the service concludes.
