WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Putnam Woman Shot To Death

WOMAN KILLED IN PUTNAM - Putnam County Sheriff's Deputies responded to an apparent homicide at an apartment complex in Teays Valley. Putnam County Sheriff Steve Deweese says they received a shot fired call just before 5:30 p.m., discovering the victim, a 26-year-old woman. He says the woman's husband found her body in the kitchen and called 911.

At this time, Sheriff Deweese says they are investigating the shooting as an apparent homicide. He says they do have a suspect in the case but are not releasing the person's name.

He also says that at this point in the investigation, they believe the suspect and the victim knew each other but are not releasing the extent of their relationship.

Deputies say neighbors are cooperating with the investigation. They say they are interviewing the woman's husband to try and find out more about the death.

Sheriff Deweese says if they rule this case a homicide, it will be the first homicide in Putnam County in more than 18 months.

MON ARMED ROBBERY - West Virginia State Police have arrested two men for an armed robbery in Monongalia County.

The robbery happened at 8 a.m. Thursday morning at the CVS Pharmacy on Pineview Drive in Morgantown. The suspects showed a handgun to the cashier at the pharmacy and demanded painkillers.

A witness to the robbery called 911 and told police that two suspects fled the scene with the medication in a silver Honda Civic. The witness proceeded to follow the men.

Monongalia County sheriff's deputies were able to locate the vehicle and apprehended the suspects, James and Sean Griffin, in the parking lot at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Griffin and Griffin were remanded TO the North Central Regional Jail with bail set at $50,000 each.
