Janice Morgan Hall, 101 - Frametown

Janice Morgan Hall, 101, of Frametown, went home to be with the Lord after a short illness on Aug 29, 2015. Janice was born May 16, 1914 on a farm in Altizer, WV to Roy and Nora Whytsell Morgan, one of six children.

She graduated from Calhoun HS in 1933 and attended Glenville State College where she met her husband and obtained a teaching certificate.

She received her BA in Education in 1955. She taught for several years in one-room schools in Calhoun County. The remaining 37½ years of her career were spent at Frametown Elementary in Braxton County where she was greatly admired by her students.

Janice was a leader in 4H, a member of the DAR, Eastern Star and Alpha Kappa Sorority. She taught Sunday school while a long time member of Hope Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. All received the fruit of her labor of love. She gardened, canned, quilted, sewed, and was known for her pies, biscuits and cornbread.

Everyone who came to visit felt welcomed, loved and fed. She was a true example of Christ's love, patience and service.

Janice was preceded in death by James, her husband of 73 years, and her grandson Rees Powell. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Jack) Moore and Roberta (Mitch) Powell, and one son, James S. Hall; six grandchildren, Candi Gampp, Michele Bellomy, LCDR Sarah Granger MD, Mary Beth Moore, Nathaniel Powell and Callan Powell; five great grand children, and three great-great grandchildren.

Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, WV with the Rev. Allen Donaldson officiating. Interment will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway. Visitation will be two hours prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity.
