CLAY WOMAN CHARGED WITH BURNING OWN HOME

A Clay County woman has been arrested and charged with arson after allegedly setting fire to a home where she was living. The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office says the fire happened on Scenic River Road in Procious on August 18. Investigators say the fire was intentionally set. Melissa M. Jarvis, 42, who was an occupant of the home, was arrested Monday and charged with first degree arson. Investigators also say she was burned in the fire. Jarvis was arraigned in Clay County and is being held on $100,000 bail in the Central Regional Jail.
