UPPER BIG RUN FAMILY HOMELESS AFTER FIRE STRIKES

A mobile home burned to the ground Tuesday on Upper Big Run off Nicut Road, with the family losing all their possessions.

The residents left the mobile home to go next door to do some canning, when they shortly discovered the structure was on fire.

Family members attempted to remove some of the contents to no avail, and some of them were overcome by smoke and received minor burns.

Residents of the dwelling, Randy and Mylinda Jones, Dakota and Keri Jones and their four month old child.

"They were lucky to be out, the flames spreading so rapidly," said Gilford McCoy.

Responding to the fire at 2 p.m., the Upper West Fork and Arnoldsburg VFDs and Minnie Hamilton EMS.
