Farm use reports must be filed with the county assessor before the end of the month. Otherwise the wise ones down at the mouth of the Elk will require that your meadows and pasture fields will be classified as possible mall sites, locations for high end condominiums (like where Farmer Walt lives), strip malls, etc. even if the lands are in the "flood plain". There are no exceptions.

Harold Grimm, age 89, passed away in Parkersburg. He was the son of Thomas & Sylvia Grimm (Wise) and was born in Creston. His father was killed in an accident at the rock quarry above the Germany section of Creston.

Jessie Ferrell, Casey Ferrell & Paula Hughart spent a week visiting at the Carl Ferrell residence.

An outfit called the West Virginia Royalty Owners Association has been having meetings about the "new & improved" big company forced pooling bill. The last meeting will be August 27 at 6 P. M. at the Inn at 61 Development Drive on W. Va. 5 east of Glenville. It is understood that a 'new' 51 page bill has been written. It is noteworthy that the big boys who were working on deals with various landowners concerning oil & gas interests in different counties have put discussion on hold for, so it would seem, they plan on having the legislature give them a better deal than they could negotiate honestly.

The EPA continues to harass West Virginia farmers saying that cows, chickens, turkeys and such might pollute the water or that the farm pond was "too big" for the farm or that "non point source" was under their jurisdiction when they were to go after point source polluters. The EPA got busted when their sweetheart contractor broke a retaining dam and turned 3 million gallons of arsenic & heavy metal contaminated mine waste into a river in Colorado. Of course the Big Eared One's minions at the agency said there was no damage, the fish are fine and the pollutants are being diluted. Of course if an ordinary person had done the same they would be in the lockup for life and likely transferred to a Mexican prison. Not so long back the TVA (a federal agency that answers to no one) had the biggest spill of coal sludge on the planet but since it was the government the fish prospered, tourists flocked to see the black water and all is great. Speaking of chickens and pollution back when the Clintons were in the White House they made an effort to shut down W. Va.'s chicken production since it was competition for Tyson Foods, a FOB (Friend of Bill). Luckily someone in the W. Va. Dept. of Ag had the technology to analyze the coliforms in the South Branch and found 95% was from human waste caused mainly by a large municipality in the area that had political stroke and hadn't been required to build a sewage treatment facility.

The global warming people had a bad day when it was reported that the proposed release of methane from the permafrost in the Artic caused by "manmade global warming" wasn't going to happen. The scam artists said methane, the main component in natural gas, is 34 times "more toxic" that CO2 and their proposed warming (which has been on hold now for 18 years) would come out of the ground when it froze but scientific tests have determined that if permafrost warms bacteria in the soil devour the methane and even take it from the atmosphere. Then, to make matters worse, the Donald said the warmers were frauds but the scam, at the expense of ordinary citizens & taxpayers is now a trillion dollar business which, in turn, can buy more politicians, etc.

Little Jebbie, the establishment candidate for the Republican nomination, continues to have bad luck as now it has come out that he & wife are buddies of Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim who sells to the taxpayers the infamous "Obamaphones," one of the new entitlements for the non working that taxpayers are supposed to keep in style.

Rick Williams brought the message at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.

Gay Park has been under the weather.

George Soros, the billionaire international currency manipulator who paid for Chelsa's wedding and has spent multiplied millions pushing drug legalization, liberal candidates and "clean energy" recently purchased one million shares of Peabody Coal and over 1/2 million shares of Arch Coal. As a youth Soros turned in his fellow Jews to the Nazis to be sent to the death camps. Soros was said to be a backer of the proposed [but now on hold?] ethane cracker in Wood County.

A survey crew from Texas is surveying for a 42" pipeline that may go through some of the dePue property between Creston & Burning Springs. They said the gas would be going to North Carolina and a lot of wells would have to be drilled. Other surveyors and front men for Columbia said a line would be going to Kentucky and then to the Gulf for export.

Charles Russell was calling on Paris Parsons, Ray Gumm & brother Euell at the Miletree Center. It looks like something started to happen at the proposed rest home site in Elizabeth. With the exception of the new American Legion building the entire business block going from the former Roberts Store site is now demolished.

Antero announced that they are going to build a $275 million waste water treatment facility in Doddridge County. The facility, to be designed and built by Veolia, a firm that operates water plants in West Virginia, will treat 60,000 bbl./day of brine so it can be reused for hydrofracking new wells instead of putting it in injection wells with which there have been some serious problems. According to the press release the facility will produce fresh water, salt and other brine products. Well written oil & gas leases specify that salt and other products, if sold, will be subject to royalty payments.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude fell to $39.45/bbl. for tier one with Mountain high test [condensate] fetching only $15.45 and Marcellus & Utica light bringing $33.45 and medium $39.45/bbl. All this is said to be caused by global economic problems and the big selloff on Wall Street that has been funded by the Federal Reserve which has been monetizing the national debt [writing bad checks to cover the ones that bounced] as well as the proposed glut of oil from "our Iranian friends" that chant death to America and death to Israel but they must be OK since errand boy Broadway Joe said they were. Madame Hilliary who "wiped her hard drive with a cloth" went to Tehran secretly to do the deal when she was involved in the plane crash and was out of circulation "because of a fall". Local oil & gas producers are being squeezed as natural gas locally sells for less that one dollar and EQT takes deductions of over 50% from royalties that they owe. There continues to be talk that the price of oil will fall to $15.
