Betty Louise Matics, 83 - Spencer

Betty Louise Matics, 83, of Spencer, WV, passed away August 14, 2015, in the Roane General Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit following an extended illness. She was born December 4, 1931, in Spencer, a daughter of the late Coy Brown and Goldie Mae (Wyatt) Casto. Her sisters, Ella Lee Burdette, Velda Taylor and Marie Casto, and brothers, Ralph Casto and Harold Casto also preceded her in death. She was a former employee of the Kellwood Company, Stahlman's Fabric Shop and Roane General Hospital. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Karen L. (Conner) and James W. Casto, Jr. of Evans WV; grandchildren, J.W. Casto, III, and his wife, Karmyn of Ravenswood WV, Megan Rebecca Casto, and Morgan Tyler Casto both of Evans; great grandchildren, James William Casto, IV, and Sophia Renae Casto; sister, Opal Shreve of Spencer and several nieces and nephews. Service will be 7 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, WV, with Bill Walton and the Rev. Don Bauer officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of service Monday, at the funeral home. Committal service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Our family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the staff at Roane General Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit for their kind, compassionate and most professional care of our mother and grandmother.
