CALHOUN CIRCUIT COURT REPORT

Judge Thomas Evans III was in Grantsville August 10th for Circuit Court.

Adam James appeared for a pre-trial hearing on his charge of attempted murder. The case was continued to September 21 for another pre-trial hearing.

Justin Hannah appeared for arraignment on his indictment for forgery and uttering felony charges. His case is set for pre-trial hearing on September 21, with a jury trial on October 6.

Douglas Lynch appeared for sentencing regarding his conviction on a felony conspiracy charge and was continued until January 6, 2016..

Gary Ferrell's cases involving delivery of a controlled substance and being a felon in possession of a firearm were set for a pre-trial hearing on September 21 and for jury trial on October 6.

Danny Lockhart was appointed a new attorney to represent him on his charges for manufacturing marijuana and sexual abuse in the first degree. His case is set for scheduling on September 3.

Gary Johnson failed to appear for a status hearing on his charge of manufacturing marijuana. A capias was issued for his arrest.

Joseph Kute appeared for a motion to reduce bond. The State objected to the bond reduction, but the Court modified Mr. Kute's bond so that he might post surety as approved by the clerk.

Matthew Jeffrey entered a plea to one count of being a prohibited person in possession of firearm, a felony. His case was set for sentencing on September 3.

Kayla Cain appeared on her motion to modify her bond related to her charges of delivery of a controlled substance. Her motion was granted and she is now allowed to seek employment while she continues on home confinement.

There were seventeen juvenile hearings on the docket.

The next court date is August 17th with Judge David Nibert presiding.
