Pechiney Rolled Products, a Ravenswood aluminum rolling mill, has given pink slips to 90 production workers, effective December 1. The layoffs are the first round in the dismissal of 202 workers at the facility.

The plant, which produces rolled sheets for the aerospace and transportation industry, currently employees 1,150 workers.

The cutbacks are part of a $9 million restructuring.

Pechiney is the next door neighbor of Century Aluminum, both descendent's of the old Kaiser Aluminum plant.
